Erin MacLean is a missionary working with vulnerable children in South Africa. She is working with Pfunanane ministries, in the northern province of Limpopo in the area of education and also as a full time house mother. Pfunanane focuses on Christian education, outreach to the nearby townships and a growing children’s village. As an Administrative Coordinator, Erin helps run the ins and outs of the school; from making sure the teachers have appropriate curriculum, to ministering to parents to balancing the school’s small budget. One of her main objectives is to find more American and South African individuals and companies that are willing to partner with the school’s ever growing ministries.
As a house mother to three children, Erin spends her life looking after these kids’ needs: physical, emotional and spiritual. Erin took in these children in October of 2010. These brothers lived with their mother and sister in extreme poverty. They were malnourished to the point that a local doctor thought these symptoms were signs of terminal illness. One neighbor put it this way, “I couldn’t look at these kids without wanting to cry.” After years of neglect, the mother finally decided it was best to put her children in a safer and more stable home. Now all three boys are growing both in stature and in maturity. Through discipleship at home, school and church these boys are learning what it means to love and serve the Lord.
Please be praying for Erin and her boys: Penny, Elmon and Delly; for wisdom for protection and that their hearts would always seek to serve their Lord! If you want to email her to hear more about this ministry please email her directly at: halliganmaclean@gmail.com
